What is sun style tai chi?
Sun style Tai Chi Chuan is one of five styles recognised by the Chinese government.
Sun style was created by Sun Lu Tang, a famous Xing Yi and Ba Gua master.
Sun style Tai chi chuan merges the quick movements and deftness of Ba Gua with
the touch and spontaneous strike from Xing Yi. Stepping is performed in the
style of Xing Yi or Ba Gua. However Sun style Tai Chi has no forms taken from
Ba Gua or Xing Yi. In 1918 Sun Lu Tang's knowledge of these three internal
martial arts inspired him to develop a new form with 97 postures.
Sun Jian Yun was one of the present age 10 famous Wushu teachers of China and became Chairman of the Beijing Sunstyle Tai Chi Association.
We teach Sun Style Tai chi as taught by Teacher Sun Jian Yun and also Master Sun Cun Zhou. Sun style Masters Liu Shu Chun, Lei Shi Tai, Bai Pu Shan and others have set up the Sun Lu Tang’s Martial Arts Development Association to promote Sun style family arts.
